today is 2 weeks post op. I feel GREAT! I had an appointment with the doctor Wednesday as I had some weeping issues. nothing huge, nothing over the top OMG i have to see the doc... I was told to come in... Doc said everything looks good, equal... He then proceeded to remove my stitches. All 4 of them. Everything else is under the skin, under steri-strips.
My energy level is good, I am elated. cloud 9.
Mary took care of me for some week and a half, through the hardest part of things.. Now she's down, sleeping. I am back to taking care of her. No problem. No sweat. Yesterday I made meat loaf (with her direction). It came out pretty good, will be awesome made into sandwiches.
I still have veggie soup made by Miss Barbara. mmmm good. I made some rice to go with. Excellent indeed. We also have left over pork chops I made day before yesterday. 2 kinds of potatoes. We're good. I bought a ham, I'll cook that maybe on Sunday. Stuck full of cloves. My mouth waters at the prospect.

dec 12 day 9 post op
I will have to call the doctors office tomorrow and see if I need to come in.. The L side is healing well, but the right has a busted hematoma (now looks black) and redness extending up through the incision line. Otherwise, I feel fine. Zingers in my L side. Normal, I'm told. Strange to have nipple pain. Nerves regenerating. No fever. I'm sleeping well, eating healthy. Mary watching over me like mother goose. I'm not complaining.

tuesday t+4 days
but who is counting?
Slept well last night and well into today. There is a small spot of weeping on the left side center. There is a larger spot right lateral. Mary says there is a hematoma formed right side center: not where it had been leaking. We took pictures today and we'll have to see how things progress.
I have to be mindful of myself, not to reach, not to do.

dec5 day 2 post op
didn't sleep as well last night, but didn't take a benadryl either. Able to reach 3500 on my IS, still well and above my predicted, and what I was doing pre=op. Cough at deep inspiration. If there is any production, it is not worth mentioning. Mostly I'm having itching issues and the surgical wrap is TIGHT and restrictive. I want to see what is underneath, but no way can mary and I get this back on, and it needs to be on. A little concerned with what may be under the wrap, but it doesn't hurt, doesn't smell (that I can tell) and certainly isn't draining. The faint blood stain mary marked yesterday is same.... so..................
tomorrow I see the doc. I'll take along a new sports bra, just in case.... but I expect to be re-wrapped and to see how the surgical wrap is applied. Hopefully mary and I can do it ourselves.
I do feel better than last night. The high red in my cheeks is diminished. Walking is not an issue for me, no dizziness or syncopal episodes. We'll see how things go.
I'm just trying not to be too demanding, and to be sure mary is getting enough rest, as she is taking care of ME. And her health issues are important too. This is as much as I've seen her up in a long time. Ate a lot of food too... not normal for her. But again, she is taking care of ME and is taking that job seriously. I am concerned for us both. enough said. there is no help coming from any other quarter, but if we needed it, I think we could get SOME help........
enough for now getting tired. nap time.

I am one day and 4 hours post op. I have a breast wrap in place over my surgical dressing. It is saturday night, mary has gone to bed for a while. The pain is there I think due to the tightness of the surgical wrap, and velcro rubbing against skin. I've a piece of cloth to protect my skin from the velcro. I'm noticing some pain along the lateral line, both sides. There is some swelling above the wrap, and when touched, is tender. I see the PS on monday 1pm. I'll have my first look at the new IBTs. I am using my pain medication about every 6 hours, and benedryl for itching. Helps with sleep too.
I knew my anestheologist - Dr. Le, my OR nurse Karen (by sight) and the preop admit RN. forget her name, altho she bought some pottery from me at one of the Country Store functions. My post op nurse was Michelle. All were excellent. I was in good hands.
And so now it is a waiting game for healing. Mary is taking excellent care of me, and of herself. I am grateful. We have food enough. I have been able to get emails out, talked with Kitty. Hope I put her mind at ease. I am using my IS - preop was 3500+ and now it is something less. Because of cough/ dry cough. Right now someghing less than 3000. I do have a sometimes productive cough, but not a consistant thing. I think it is leftovers from anesthesia. who knows. Mary said my cheeks are flushed. I kinda feel that. but not a fever kind of a heat. Will just have to keep an eye on things.. so for tonight. good night. for now..........
